There’s no denying that taking on a challenge like Race Across The World: The Experience comes with an emotional rollercoaster (in the best possible way!).
Between the darting around, budgeting mishaps and triumphs at checkpoints, there’s a whole host of thoughts and feelings that propel you throughout your adventure, and today, we’re going to share some of them with you.
Here’s how we’d summarise Race Across The World: The Experience in just 10 emotions from starting the race until the very end, and be warned, some of them might lead to high fives!
Emotion One: Anticipation

You’ve set up your teams and you’re heading off to the start point and…what’s that I hear? Sounds like a flurry of questions building up inside of you!
Where will you go? What will you find? Could we…actually come first? Has everyone got a brolly in case it rains?
You’ll find out, all in good time, my friend. Let’s head to our first checkpoint!
Emotion Two: Intrigue

Hang on, this lovely barista has just handed over an envelope and a drink with a discount. Always a good idea to refuel before getting started. Ah, I can’t contain myself, better take a look inside…
Ooh, cool! I wonder what we’ll need these for? I’ll give that to my teammate, they’d never just put something down and wander off without checking they still have it…
Has everyone popped to the loo before we go? Right, ok. Let’s go! Hang on, my teammate has left the envelope on the table. I’ll keep hold of that, thank you very much!
Emotion Three: Frugality

Hmm, to pick the expensive option or the cheap option. Surely we can’t go expensive from the off, can we?
Oh, everyone else seems to think so. Better stand my ground. No, we need to save! What happens if we need that money later on? It’s only leg one!
Yeah, good point, we do want to get off to a good start…but…
Finally, they’re coming round to my way of thinking! I knew they would, in the end. Hope they don’t blame me for this later…
Emotion Four: Inspiration

How could I possibly never have noticed that this was here before? All the times I’ve been here, I’ve never once seen that.
Smile everyone! Oops, one of us blinked. Let’s try again…perfect. I’ll send that to the group chat later.
And I’ll just take a quick snap of this without everyone else in shot too, so I can show it off and sound knowledgeable later on. Great idea, self, great idea.
Emotion Five: Conviviality

Did you know that “conviviality” descends from a Latin word that, when dissected and translated, is something like “with”, “live” and “feast”?
It’s nice that a word exists that describes something or someone that is friendly, lively and enjoyable, especially in a social setting, isn’t it?
Yeah, I know. I should have helped create this experience with that kind of knowledge…
Anyway, it’s so nice to be out and about having a laugh with this lot. They’re my lot. We make a great team. The best, in fact, looking at our place on the leaderboard.
Emotion Six: Competitiveness

Hang on a tick, that looks like another team! How many of them are there? They look pretty confident.
Not for long though, ha ha ha! Oops, maybe I evil laughed out loud?
Right, I’m taking command. Onward, team!
Emotion Seven: Parched Vindication

Unusual combination of feelings but self-explanatory when you experience it.
It’s break time, and thank goodness. I am so thirsty and maybe even a little hungry. Handy to have another discount at our disposal. And the timer is paused so we can spend as long as we like just chilling here…
Ah, that’s better. Now let’s get to this physical puzzle. What’s all this about then?
No, no, no. My teammates have it all wrong. This one goes first. Or does it…? Aha! We've cracked it! And that, my fine friends, is how you experience parched vindication. Onto the next leg we go…
(P.S Just had another glance at the leaderboard. We are smashing this!)
Emotion Eight: Extravagance

Well, if we want to keep smashing this it’s time to spend, spend, spend that budget! Let’s see what the team thinks.
We can always work to make it up again later. Or now? Let’s do it now. No time like the present, after all.
Quick!
Emotion Nine: Wise, Precocious, Genius…etc

We are so clever. I wouldn’t be surprised if we solved that last puzzle in record time, to be honest.
Yes, we got a few incorrect answers along the way and maybe I should have paid more attention when my teammate was saying that we should have picked the other option.
But, look where we are, team! We made it, despite setbacks. Because we’re a team.
Did I mention I think we’re the best team ever to have competed?
Emotion Ten: Jubilation

Is it really the last leg of the race? Ahh!
Where has the time gone? And where is the guest book?
Quick, quick, send the answer! I’m sure that’s right. Was it? It was! Oh, wait. Hmm, this lock combo wants some thinking about…
And the final answer is…
Couldn’t get past us. Where did we end up on the leaderboard?
YES TEAM! Told you we’re the best!
Should I put this accolade on my CV? Hmm, maybe not. I’ll save it for parties.
