What is Race Across The World: The Experience if not a great excuse to improve your teamwork skills?

Whether your office is located in London or Manchester, there’s nothing like a group adventure to get your colleagues thinking, fired up and feeling included. And that’s what Race Across The World: The Experience is all about.
Here is everything you need to know about taking part in Race Across The World: The Experience as a corporate group, from planning the day to what you need to bring with you!

Buying and Booking Tickets
Tickets for Race Across The World: The Experience are available from our ticketing partner, Fever.
Simply select your city and location, then use the side bar to choose the number of players you’d like per team and how many teams you require. For example, if you have a group of 20 participants and you’d like them to play in teams of 5, you’d need to select 4 teams of 5 players.
If you have over 20 players, drop us an email with an approximate number of players and we’ll help you get booked in.
If you need to add extra players closer to the date, that won’t be a problem: just let us know as early as you can and we’ll add them to your dashboard.

Designate an Organiser
Bookings for Race Across The World: The Experience are managed digitally, so the person organising the experience will need to have access to their email inbox to log in and set up the activity.
Organisers receive all communications regarding the experience until they have set up individual teams by providing their WhatsApp phone numbers.

Managing and Setting Up Teams
All you need to set up your Race Across The World experience is your booking number/ticket ID and the email address you made the booking with. Make sure you use an email address that you have easy access to and avoid using relay email addresses (you will receive a unique PIN to enable login).
Once you’ve accessed the dashboard, all you have to do is input players’ WhatsApp telephone numbers. Note that all players need to have their own ticket in order to receive messages.

How Gameplay Unfolds for Large Groups
Worried that some teams might cheat and follow each other around? Don’t be, we’re a step ahead!
All teams participating in the experience will meet at your selected time at the same location (depending on your chosen city/location). Then, each team will send “START” to their welcome message on WhatsApp.
Teams will then be allotted their first checkpoint to collect their race packs and embark on their adventure. This will separate the teams and it will likely be the last time they see each other before the final checkpoint.

Checkpoint Venues Throughout The Race
Worried your staff will get a little too comfy at the cafes and pubs and forget to move on? You’ll know if they do!
All teams on the same booking will be added to their own private internal leaderboard. This gets updated at each checkpoint, so you can track the other teams’ progress throughout the race. All teams have access to the leaderboard so they can keep an eye on their rivals (it adds a nice competitive edge!).
Checkpoint venues are decided by the individual teams’ choices, so they are likely to follow very different routes and stop at different checkpoints.

Allocating and Managing Budgets
All teams have to manage a virtual, in-game budget throughout the race.
All teams start with the same budget (regardless of team size) and they must use it to unlock different route options. One option will cost more than the other, and the cheaper set of directions offer more of a challenge.
Instructions for how to spend or recoup funds are given to players at the start of the experience.
You can read our full guide to budgeting here.

Getting Help During The Race
Race Across The World: The Experience is a self-guided activity, so all help will be given remotely.
There are multiple ways to receive help during the experience. If a team gets stuck, all they need to do is send “HINT” and they’ll be given an extra clue. If they get lost, they can send “LOST” to receive directions that get them back on track.
At the beginning of the experience, teams are provided with a link to our WhatsApp help centre that is monitored by our friendly team. Any queries or questions should be directed here, or sent to us by email.

Find The Perfect End Venue
Teams need to be on the same booking to be allotted the same final checkpoint.
We can recommend nearby end venues that can accommodate groups of all sizes. Please see our corporate brochure to see the full selection, and once you’ve made a decision, we’ll put you in touch with the relevant venue.
Accessibility Information
One of the best things about Race Across The World: The Experience is how inclusive it is.
When setting up your race, you’ll be given the option of making the race suitable for a range of different needs, including step-free and dog-friendly.
If you have any additional needs or questions, please contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Please note we do not have storage facilities at any of our start checkpoints, so it’s best to leave any bags at the office or make alternative arrangements.
What Should Teams Bring With Them?
We always advise comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate attire. The experience goes ahead rain or shine, so you’d be wise to bring a brolly and a rain jacket!
Apart from that, the only other thing teams need is a mobile phone with data. Make sure phones are fully charged before the experience, or bring a back up charger just in case.
