Over the course of 2025, Race Across The World: The Experience has expanded into three destinations across London and Manchester, and thousands of players have already added their names to the coveted guest book.
Teams are as diverse as the cities they seek to unravel; families, friends, colleagues, couples, all of them united under the same quest to complete the challenges that lay ahead of them as a team.
If you’re a local who’s a little skeptical about how much really hides in plain sight in your familiar stomping grounds, read on. Here are just 7 reasons why Race Across The World: The Experience is great for locals!

1. There’s Always Something New to Discover
Even if you’ve lived in London or Manchester for years, you must know by now that these cities never stop surprising you.
One day, you’ve got a shortcut to a destination sussed out, only to find it’s been blocked by scaffolding the next. And that’s all part of the fun!
Race Across The World: The Experience is designed to show you what you’ve missed while being wrapped up in your everyday life.
Cities are works of art in progress, never truly finished and certainly never stagnant. Relics of the past turn up in the unlikeliest of places, if you’ll only allow yourself to be surprised…

2. You Can Share Your Familiar Stomping Grounds With Anyone You Like
So you’ve lived in London or Manchester your whole life, but who’s to say that your teammates share your level of local expertise?
Race Across The World: The Experience is an inclusive team game, and everyone who wants to take part is welcome to join.
Families with young children can opt for a pram-friendly route, while those who have limited mobility can opt for a wheelchair-friendly route. And if you want to bring your dog along, just select the dog-friendly route!

3. Your Insider Knowledge Won’t Be Of Much Use
We’ve said in our FAQs that locals won’t be able to put their insider knowledge to good use, and we stand by that.
Unless you’ve honed your mind-reading skills, you won’t know where the checkpoints are until you and your team have unlocked them, and to do that, you’ll have to follow cryptic clues and decipher directions that have been designed to keep you on your toes.
Our puzzles are crafted to challenge everyone equally, so even lifelong Londoners and Mancunians will need to think creatively and work together as a team.

4. The Puzzles Have Been Designed to Test You
Each of the challenges you face on Race Across The World: The Experience combines local trivia, observation, and lateral thinking.
Expect clever wordplay, cryptic hints, and three physical, escape room-style puzzles that keep you guessing right until the end, many of which have hidden Easter eggs from the show you know and love.
And remember, teams always pick from two sets of clues per leg. One is cheaper and less straightforward, and the other is more expensive and easier to decipher. So if you want more of a challenge, you know what to do!

5. You’ll See The City You Know and Love Through Visitors’ Eyes
Both London and Manchester are at the very top of the list when it comes to UK cities that tourists flock to, and it’s easy to see why.
Both have it all: incredible culture, places to eat, unique histories attached, and even their very own slang. But if you’re lucky enough to call either of these places home, chances are you’re probably guilty of forgetting just how amazing your city is.
A little extra appreciation for what’s around you is never a bad thing, especially when you’ve got the memories to prove it. After all, there’s no place like home!

6. Make The Most of Your Exclusive Checkpoint Discounts
Did you know that all the Race Across The World experiences have carefully chosen checkpoint partners included?
During the race, you’ll be offered three built-in rest stops where the race timer pauses and you’re given the option to refuel, celebrate your progress and calculate your next move.
The best part is, the checkpoint venues have exclusive deals available just for players.
Who knows, maybe you’ll find your new favourite cosy cafe or local pub to enjoy?

7. It’s a Fresh Way to Spend Your Time
At the end of the day, exploring your own city is deeply rewarding. Arguably more so than continuing to chill in all your favourite old haunts (which will still be there when you’ve completed the race!).
After all, adventure is out there just beyond your doorstep. Seize it while you’ve got the chance, and see if you’ve got what it takes to top the leaderboard!
