Race Across The World: The Experience is the ultimate team challenge based on the hit TV show, now available in the City of London, London’s West End and Manchester.
But how you play it is up to you…
The stakes are as high as you want them to be, you can take your time and the scenic route or go all out for the win, all the choices you have to make that lead you to the finish line are entirely your own.
And yes, you can even compete against other teams of your choice if you fancy it, whether that’s your colleagues, friends, siblings, cousins, or even your neighbours.
Here’s how to play Race Across The World: The Experience head-to-head, and what you need to know before taking on your rivals…

Purchase Tickets For Separate Teams Simultaneously
No matter whether you’re playing in the City of London, London’s West End or Manchester, the booking process for separate teams remains the same.
Simply select the date and time you’d like, then select the number of teams you’d like to play, e.g. “team of 2 adults” x2 if you’d like to play 2 vs 2, or “team of 4 adults” x2 if you’d like to play 4 vs 4. You will be able to assign phone numbers and team names when you set up your booking.
If you have a party of over 20 players (e.g. large and corporate groups), please contact us so we can reserve a time slot that accommodates all your players!

Add a Team Member Later
Race Across The World: The Experience is designed to be played in teams of 2 to 8 players, and tickets must be purchased by adults (18+ only). Other than that, how you choose to set up your teams is up to you.
Simply log into your dashboard (instructions are included in your confirmation email) and set up your team(s) by assigning members and their phone numbers.
Want to add a player to your team or booking last-minute? No problem, just click the “Add a Ticket” button available from your dashboard.

Compete On Your Own Internal Leaderboard
All teams who participate in Race Across The World: The Experience are given a leaderboard to compete on. If you’re competing as just one team, you’ll compete against a randomly-selected selection of teams and the overall leaderboard, which is revealed at the end of the race.
If you have multiple teams racing head-to-head, you’ll be supplied with your own private leaderboard with just your teams on it. This is provided to groups who have booked multiple teams under the same booking, so it’s important you book all teams simultaneously.

Overtaking and Running Into Your Rivals
One question we’re often asked is whether teams racing head-to-head on Race Across The World: The Experience start, finish and visit the same checkpoints along the way.
All teams start from the same start location, e.g. Liverpool Street Station for The City of London, but they may be sent to alternate locations to collect their race packs. This is due to logistical reasons that ensure the checkpoint venues don’t get overwhelmed, and so that teams can be given their race packs in a timely fashion.
During the race, teams will make their own decisions that unlock different routes and checkpoint venues. Teams move at their own pace and their decisions will lead them in different directions and towards different checkpoints as the race unfolds.
However, all teams under the same booking finish at the same location. This is so you can celebrate or commiserate together, and compare your final scores under the same roof!

Clues, Choices and Budget-Management
Race Across The World: The Experience is as dynamic as the name suggests, and it’ll be up to teams to pick and choose their routes and clues, and manage (or mis-manage) their budgets!
This means that teams may have a totally different set of clues and places they visit along the way, depending on their choices.
At the start of each leg, teams select from two sets of clues offered by different “guides”. One will be more expensive than the other, and you can always assume that the more expensive the directions are, the easier they’ll be to decipher.

How Scoring works For Multiple Teams
No matter who you choose to play Race Across The World: The Experience with, scoring remains the same.
The leaderboard takes into account your overall race time and a team’s budget health at the end of the race, so it’s worth keeping an eye on both aspects if you’re aiming to top the leaderboard…

Large Parties and Corporate Groups
Like we mentioned at the start, large groups who want to participate in Race Across The World: The Experience will be required to split into smaller teams in order to play.
We subscribe to the philosophy of “the more the merrier”, and we’ll help ensure that your race is suitable for your teams and their needs (e.g. providing step-free routes).
Finally, all of the Race Across The World experiences are available to be booked for hen and stag dos, birthday parties and corporate groups, just reach out to us with your numbers and we’ll be happy to assist.
