The Ultimate Team Experience Among London’s Most Iconic Landmarks

Race Across The World: The Experience is a team game that has been designed to get players collaborating, cooperating and, in some very competitive teams’ cases, conspiring.

In teams of 2-8 players, groups must reach three checkpoints, solve physical puzzles, untangle directions and manage (or mismanage) a strict budget before one team can be crowned the winner.

Both of the Race Across The World experiences in London have the same game mechanics but are totally separate routes with different puzzles, landmarks and clues. Once you’ve conquered one route, you’re more than welcome to join the next - and no, you don’t have to do them in any particular order!

An Authentic Urban Adventure

There’s no substitute for authenticity, so Race Across The World: The Experience unfolds in real time with real people, places, and puzzles on London’s streets.

Teams on the City of London experience will start their adventure at Liverpool Street Station, and teams competing in London’s West End will begin at Green Park Station. From there, they’ll have to unlock their next checkpoint by working together seamlessly.

Players will be in the thick of it all: commuters, corridors, crossings and crowds as they navigate, all while the clock’s ticking in the background.

The objective is simple: reach the guestbook and final checkpoint before your rivals!

Phones, Puzzles, and Practical Details

Before a team can claim victory, they’ll have to prove their mettle by solving puzzles and working together.

Race Across The World: The Experience is entirely self-guided and uses WhatsApp as its chief communication tool. This is how teams receive instructions and directions, manage their in-game budget and keep tabs on their rivals on the live leaderboard.

That said, there’s no time for staring at screens. Each team will need to elect a team captain who will be responsible for responding to messages. Most of the time, players will be searching high and low, soaking in their surroundings and working out ways to earn a budget boost.

Apart from a phone with internet access, the only other tools needed to complete the race are provided at the start of the activity. We recommend that all players consider wearing comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Rest, Recover and Regroup During The Race

Race Across The World: The Experience is a group activity that takes anywhere between 2-4 hours, depending on several factors.

Throughout the race, teams will visit three checkpoints. How long they spend at each is up to them as the timer pauses here until you restart it. Discounts on food and/or drink are offered so that participants can quench their thirst before setting off on the next leg.

Checkpoints are automatically allocated to teams based on their in-game choices. For this reason, teams on the same booking are very unlikely to visit the same checkpoints along the way.

The final checkpoint will be the same for all teams, and we’re more than happy to let you know where this will be in advance so you can make arrangements for a celebratory finish! Just send us an email.

Effective Team Bonding and Healthy Competition

Nothing gets some teams working together quicker than the possibility of bragging rights, but even if your teams aren’t super competitive, Race Across The World: The Experience offers something for everyone.

You can think of the race as a group activity in London that reimagines a city as a playground. What secrets does it contain and where are they hiding? Whose way of thinking will prevail? How can players support each other when they need it most?

All these questions and many more will only become clear during the race. Hint: it’s often not what, or who, you’d expect!
