A Sneak Peek at The Race Across The World: The Experience Christmas Special

An exclusive sneak peek into what to expect from the brand new Race Across The World: The Experience Christmas special!

RaceAcrossTheWorld-WestEnd-London-SneakPeek

We are starting to feel very festive at CityDays HQ, and we can largely attribute that to the final details of the Race Across The World: The Experience Christmas Special being finalised…

That’s right, we’ve been as busy as Santa’s elves putting together the finishing touches of the second Race Across The World: The Experience London race and with just days to go, we can’t keep all the details to ourselves anymore.

Read on to find out what to expect on the festive edition of Race Across The World: The Experience…and don’t worry, we want to stay on Santa’s nice list so there are no spoilers below!

New Routes, New Prospects

The sparkling streets of London’s West End await you, and we mean that literally.

All of the alternative routes have been finalised and we’re so excited to hear what teams like you think about the hidden gems you’re about to discover…

Of course, since this is a festive edition of Race Across The World: The Experience, they’re going to look even more dazzling as they’ll be decked out in their Christmassy best.

Expect twinkling lights and seasonal sights that surprise and delight!

New, Exclusive Festive Characters

Those who have already played Race Across The World: The Experience in The City of London and/or Manchester will know that teams purchase directions from local guides throughout the race using in-game currency.

Previously, these have included a banker, a brewer, a cabbie, a raver, and Manchester football fans, all with their own quirks and distinct ways of conveying directions.

As the Christmas special of Race Across The World: The Experience is limited edition and themed around the festive season, the characters have also taken on a seasonal twist.

Without giving too much away, you’ll have the choice of mulling things over with a merchant, liaising with a loquacious 18th-century gentleman, and the jury’s still out on whether to pay for the barrister’s costly counsel...and that’s just a few of them!

Freshly Wrapped Physical Puzzles

Once you’ve deciphered the directions from whichever character you choose, you and your team will come face to face with an escape room-style puzzle that has been designed to tease your brains!

We’re always very excited to hear what teams think of the new puzzles and we’re bursting to find out what you think of these.

Again, we won’t spoil the fun by telling you what they are just yet, but we can tell you that they involve frozen fashionistas, calendar conundrums, and spicy surprises…

Shimmering New Checkpoints

As with the other Race Across The World experiences, you’ll have the option to visit some excellent cafés and pubs along the way.

This is where you’ll go to relax, rest up, and receive your physical puzzle that’ll unlock the next leg of the race. And don’t worry, the timer stops while you cosy up by a fire or wrap your hands around a warming drink.

We’ve chosen some checkpoint venues we think you’ll love, but don’t get too carried away planning your next move. There are exclusive discounts up for grabs!

Everyone’s Invited to Join In The Fun

As with all the races, the Christmas special edition of Race Across The World: The Experience has been designed with accessibility in mind and wheelchair/pram-friendly routes are available.

We’d love to say that the new routes are Santa’s sleigh approved, but as players of the previous experiences will know, no public transport is allowed, including sledges, sleighs, or reindeer (sorry, Rudolph). And don’t even think about nipping down any chimneys…

However, if, like the Grinch, you have a four-legged friend, they are more than *welcome to join the race. Just select dog-friendly when setting up your race!

*We do expect the streets to be busy, especially at peak times (evenings and weekends). Please consider whether your dog would be comfortable navigating through large crowds before participating.
