Race Across the World: The Experience launched in May 2025, and as it’s nearly been a year since the first players crossed the finish line, we thought it’d be interesting to gather all your burning questions and give you some answers from the people who know best. Namely, the players who’ve been where you are now.
A lot has changed since the first guest books were scattered across the City of London. There are now 6 Race Across the World experiences available across the UK and the leaderboards have never been so competitive.
Find out what you’ve been missing out on and what’s in store for you from players just like you who’ve already signed their names in the guest books. Let’s get into it!
Ticket Prices, Booking Slots and Value for Money
Race Across the World: The Experience is available in 6 locations across 5 major UK cities: the City of London, London’s West End, Manchester, York, Edinburgh and Bristol.
For all locations, ticket prices vary depending on time slot. Off-peak time slots are the cheapest option and are available daily, and children under 10 always play for free. Tickets must always be purchased by adults (18+).
The races use virtual currency to “pay” for routes, so you’ll never pay for anything extra during the race unless you want to buy food and/or drink at one of the checkpoint venues along the way. Many of these offer racing teams exclusive discounts, so make the most of them!
Gift cards are available from Fever, Virgin Experience Days and Buy a Gift. These are redeemable against any time slot, so you receive extra flexibility when booking your race.

The Perfect Pace: The One That Suits You
Unsurprisingly, taking on Race Across the World: The Experience in any city doesn’t actually involve anybody hopping on a plane to a far-flung destination. But that doesn’t mean the experience will be over before you know it!
We’re often asked how long the experience takes to complete and, unfortunately, the answer is as individual as the teams who take on the race.
The teams who typically top the leaderboards complete the experience in just over one hour, but remember that these are the top 1% of players! Most teams complete the race with an average time of 2-3 hours.
If you want or need to walk slowly, require more time to complete puzzles, or wish to take longer breaks between checkpoints, we’d advise you set aside 3-4 hours in total for the experience.

Who is Race Across the World: The Experience For?
We’ve created Race Across the World: The Experience for everyone; fans of the show, people who love to travel, rarely travel, or just want to enjoy a day out.
We’ve also made the experiences adjustable to suit teams’ needs, including step-free, dog-friendly and family-friendly.
Simply put, if you enjoy any or all of the following things, you’ll love Race Across the World: The Experience!
- Solving Puzzles (Riddles as well as physical, escape room-style puzzles)
- Exploring (Hidden gems are all around you!)
- Visiting pubs, cafés and local venues (There are 3 on every race)
- Being outdoors (Some teams have clocked up 15,000 steps!)
- Learning about cultures (There are references to cultures all over the world)
- Spending quality time with friends and family (Like we said, expect at least 2-3 hours in the company of your teammates!)

The Verdict: Does Race Across the World: The Experience Live Up to the Hype?
Race Across the World: The Experience is the official live experience of the hit TV show, created by our team at CityDays.
Playing Race Across the World: The Experience in 2026 is all about taking on an adventure, so if you want to participate in an challenge that will give you memories you’ll still be talking about weeks after completing it, it absolutely lives up to the hype.
And don’t just take our word for it.
Even some sceptical players have told us what we love to hear:
“We had a fantastic day out doing the race. It was better than we expected and we got to explore parts of London that we had never seen before. Good level of challenge. Thoroughly enjoyed and we will be looking to book another one.”
“We had a fantastic time. It was fine seeing people also doing the experience as we didn’t end up following each other which I was worried about. We will now try the second London experience and the Manchester version too!”
“Fab day out at a reasonable cost. So much fun. 6 of us completed, lots of giggles along the way.”
